Amid the world’s turmoils and the challenges the Lord wants each of us to live in Peace in our homes, our workplaces and most importantly with each other

John 16:33 Amplified “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

I am shocked at the turmoil that exists in the homes of many.

The Lord wants us to live in Peace.

The scriptures give us this admonition quite frequently, yet it seems that peace doesn’t reign in our life.

For instance our home should be a place of peace.  They should be a shelter for us in the midst of troubles in the world.

Families should unite together and stand with each other know when the enemy is playing havoc in the homes of Christians.  It’s one of his oldest schemes.

The church at Corinth was suffering from such strife within it, that the apostle Paul had to remind the members, be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace shall be with you. (2 Corinthians 13:11)

We should follow this:

• Be of one mind
• Live in peace

In order to live this out, it is important to communicate effectively with each other and to begin to do this with your spouse and children.

Communication is often the most difficult skill to minister because we experience so many different emotions.  When you are communicating your thoughts and feelings, Paul said in Eph 4:26–27, “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath”

Sounds like a contradiction –“be ye angry and sin not”, but it isn’t.  The Lord knows that anger is one of the emotions we experience in life, yet He says, although you might be feeling angry, do not sin.

What does that mean?

The message bible says, “Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry–but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.”

We may experience angry feelings but don’t use those feelings to get even.

Don’t live in constant turmoil in your home – and that holds true regarding your relationship with your family, friends, and people you work with.  We need to learn to communicate our feelings and frustrations without getting upset.

• Choose your words wisely
• Never use words to pull someone down

I want to encourage you to practice the love walk in your home – make it place of comfort and refuge, and don’t allow the enemy to bring strife into your life. Recognize the source of that strife and don’t give place to it.

Make Christ the candle of your home, when we place Him first in our home, and marriages, every hostile wall will be broken down and the life of God will rule and reign in our lives.

Keeping a positive attitude is a key to walking out Gods plan for you.

“If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [2] the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.” – James 1:5

A positive attitude help push a forward – even when obstacles seem to block our path.

My husband always has a positive attitude in life and he always and he always encourages us to remain positive. He used to carry this article around, and used to read this out to me, and also to the leaders in our church. It read:

The Loser is always part of the problem,

The Winner is always part of the answer.

The Loser always has excuses,

The Winner always has a goal.

The Loser says, “that’s not my job”

The Winner says,

Let me do it for you.

The Loser sees a problem for every answer,

The Winner sees an answer for every problem.

The Lose says, “it may be possible, but its too difficult”,

The Winner says , “it may be difficult, but it is possible.”

To be a winner we must take that attitude that believes and delivers. I have the ability to accomplish the plan of God for my life, and with the help of the Lord, I will follow this plan to completion.

We must take the Words “I can’t”, out of our vocabulary, and stand declaring that I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.

Also in James 1:5, “If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of [2] the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.”

If we need Wisdom for something, we ask the Lord for it and He gives it to us.

You may be thinking, I feel so inadequate in my job, I’m never going to be promoted, because I don’t have the proper education or training, or you may be feeling like you don’t have the ability, or the personality to do what I’ve been asked to do.

Remember, God says, YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM! Stop thinking of yourself with I can’t. Start thinking I can.

I can be a success.

I can be promoted.

I can have favor with my employer.

I can do what I’ve been assigned to do.

Relying on the strength and Wisdom of God is the only way to win in life.

So I encourage you to do just that.

Rely on His strength and Wisdom in every area of your life.

Keep a positive attitude, and speak the Word of God over yourself daily. And the Lord will give you the ability to carry out the plan He has destined for your life.

As a Pastor here at Rhema Melbourne I can tell you each year as we have taken this time and come expecting God to speak to us, He always has. Mark Willhite and the team of worshippers, and ministers, who come to help us enter into a place of rest in Him, were we do hear more clearly, I know each year as Mark ministers, we are lifted up to a higher place, Praise Life isn’t just for musicians, singers it’s for the body of Christ to come aside and spend time in His Presence.

The bible says as we sow to the Spirit from the Spirit we reap Life. We purposely have Praise Life each year at the beginning of the year, knowing that in this time, God orders our steps, and shows us ‘things to come’ for the year we have entered into.

As I prayed, “Are You Ready” came to my heart;
and I can tell you I’m Ready!

I’m looking forward to us all coming together, having an open Heaven, and the presence of God in our midst ministering to us. I believe also it will be such a celebration time as we join with Mark in celebrating his 30 years in ministry – 30 years of faithful service in the Kingdom of God.

We want the Lord to teach us … What a privilege … What a responsibility of spending time with Him. That there would be a new hunger, stirred in us to spend time in His presence.

 Billye Brim said, “Prayer is the fuel the Holy Spirit will use.”

 I think sometimes we take for granted our time with the Lord.  The Creator of the Universe, and that we can talk to Him.

We hear people say, “What must it be like to have a few moments with someone like Donald Trump”, and yet the Creator of the Universe – we can have time with Him!

If we don’t have our daily time with the Lord, without realizing it, we try to substitute it with something else because we know something is missing.  It’s so important in our lives, to have time each day in the Word of God (Bible) and in prayer.

 Think about the woman at the well.  Jesus said to her, “Bring me a drink of water.”

She said, “How come You, a Jew, ask me for a drink, don’t you know that Jews don’t have any dealings with the Samaritans.”

He said, “If you knew who was talking to you, you would ask Me for Living Water, and it would be given unto you.”

She said, “How can you give me living water, when you don’t have a bucket to draw with?”

Jesus said, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I give him will never thirst again.”

The presence of God, His Word, and His Spirit will give you a life that keeps on giving – every single day.

Jesus said to the woman, “Go call your husband.”

She said, “I don’t have a husband.”

He said, “That’s right, you have had 5 husbands and the one you’re living with is not your husband.”

She tried to get from each one of those husbands; only what the Lord could give. When we think another human being is going to satisfy our life, or fulfill our life, when only the Lord can, we are headed for a disappointment.  When you find a person who has found their joy in Christ, and who has their identity in God,  They are secure with somebody or alone.  When they come into a marriage, they are not out to take, they want to give.

 When you have two people like that, you have heaven on earth.  It’s a continual give and take between the two of them.

People look for life in things and people, when the only true life is found in Christ.  That’s why the woman Jesus had spoke to at the well had gone from one well to another.  Jesus was asking her, what is your source of life, that’s why he bought up the husband list, to show her.

There has to come a point were there is only one Life-Giving-Well  - and that’s Jesus. And daily, we can draw Water from the well.

 Daily we can receive Bread from heaven.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29,  “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Do you know it’s possible to sleep at night and wake up tired?  It’s possible to go on holiday and come back weary – because we took a holiday from God, and because there was no time – no time alone with Him.

But when we Seek His face we get Living Manna from the Word of God.  And when His presence is in the air we breathe!

This is your time, and your hour to walk and talk with God.

 Today, right now, we can say, “Father, forgive me for not giving You that time – today I want Jesus in His rightful place in my life.  I thank You for a new beginning and a fresh start in Jesus Name.”

Time alone with God – what a blessing, that care He has for our lives.

 God loves you (Jeremiah 31:3).  He is waiting for that time with you because you are important to Him.

And your important to us here at Rhema Family Church – a place were miracles happen!!

I wanted to encourage you with this exholtation today.  I feel many of us need to be reminded of it daily.

Phillipians 4:6 (Amplified Bible) – “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”

With any anxities or worries, the first thing we need to do is pray and cast your cares on the Lord.

1 Peter 8:7 says “Cast all your care upon Him, For he cares for you.”  God doesn’t want you as His child to be full of worry, full of anxiety or concerns.

Here are some things that can help you:

• Once you have prayed about your situation, don’t think about it anymore.  Keep your mind focused on the answer (God’s Word) to your prayer.
• Colossians 2:2 (AMP) –  “Set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things, not on the things that are on the earth.)”
• If thoughts come to your mind about the situation, don’t try fight thoughts with thoughts.  Start speaking the Word of God out loud that is the best way to fight thoughts.  Speak what God’s word says about what you are facing.
• Don’t try figure it all all out, instead trust God’s ability to work it out for you.
• If the devil tries to bring a picture of the problem to your mind, immediately make yourself think on things that are honest, just, pure, lovely and of a good report. (Philipians 14:8)
• And use the words of your mouth to start praising God for His word, for that word (His promise to you that is yes and Amen – 1 Cor 1:19) that is working in your life now. It will help keep your focus on things above, also we know the bible tells us as we praise God.  He sits in the praises of His people, the presence of God clothes us, strengthens us, to run our race and finish our course.

 We are so thankful we have such a wonderful God, who loves us, and everyday as we call on Him, He helps us, delivers us,  Spend some time this week in Psalm 91; what a wonderful Psalm to meditate in.

 You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
   Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
      I trust in you and I’m safe!”
   That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
      shields you from deadly hazards.
   His huge outstretched arms protect you—
      under them you’re perfectly safe;
      his arms fend off all harm.
   Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
      not flying arrows in the day,
   Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
      not disaster that erupts at high noon.
   Even though others succumb all around,
      drop like flies right and left,
      no harm will even graze you.
   You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
      watch the wicked turn into corpses.
   Yes, because God’s your refuge,
      the High God your very own home,
   Evil can’t get close to you,
      harm can’t get through the door.
   He ordered his angels
      to guard you wherever you go.
   If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
      their job is to keep you from falling.
   You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
      and kick young lions and serpents from the path. 

 ”If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
      ”I’ll get you out of any trouble.
   I’ll give you the best of care
      if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
   Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
      I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
   I’ll give you a long life,
      give you a long drink of salvation!” (Psalm 91, The Message)

From our Heart to yours.

In order for us to grow strong and to experience all God has for us , we need to get to know God on a personal basis.

• It’s important to be taught God’s word.
• It’s important for corporate worship,
• It’s important to be apart of a local church,

But individually, If we don’t have a personal time with God, we will be missing out on what God has for us.

Now the Lord is with us, all the time, Christ is in us, “The hope of Glory” He said, “I will never leave you, I will never forsake you.”

 So all through the day we can walk and talk with the Lord.  But, during our day we often get distracted through obligations, activities, people, and He isn’t our total focus.  That’s why we all we time alone with God.

Jesus said to His disciples “Could you not watch with me one hour.”  We all need to tend that time some were in our day.

The idea of starting our day with the Lord:

• The first hour of each day;
• The first day of each week;
• The first dollar of every ten we earn.

We are to be tithers not only with finances but our time.  Honour the Lord with your First Fruits – Proverbs 3:9, 10

If we honour the Lord with the first fruits of all our increase- He said …. Our barns will be filled, our presses will overflow.  Whatever you contain your resources in, He said it will overflow.  Why? Because we put first things first.

This is a time for all of us to take Psalm 42:1,2 and meditate on it and ask ourselves: Does our soul thirst for God.

“Thirst” – crave, an intense desire, a driving passion in us.  He relates it have to a deer longing for the water brooks, the deer would long after it, pursue it, go after the brook to have their thirst satisfied, they would plunge into the brook.

What a thought, you and I plunging into His presence, to live in the presence of His life, that we long for it.  We were made for fellowship with God, so set some time aside to spend with the Lord.

He is the life giving water, as you wait upon Him, there are wonderful exchanges that take place.

Isiah 40: says “For your weakness, He will give you His strength.”

Let me give you a thought:  As a runner prepares to run, he hydrates Himself, because he knows if he doesn’t, somewhere in the run he will need water.  Before we test the day let’s hydrate ourselves in the presence of God so we have that living water flowing through out our day.

We love you, we believe for God’s best in your life.

You were created for it.

Talking from Ps. Eileen’s teaching, Alone with God, to order cd contact Rhema Melbourne,

“Then you shall make our way prosperous, and then we will have good success.” – Joshua 1:8

One thing that each of us desires is to have a successful life, and God has givenus His formula for success in the book of Joshua, and it relate to what I believe the Lord is calling us all to in this year, a greater commitment from us, to spend time in the word of God and to put His word to practice.

After the death of moses, the Lord told the Isralites to fast:

Joshua 1:8 – “The book of the Lord shall not depart out of your mouth but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written for then you will make your way prosperous and then you shall have good success.”

Notice the Lord is not just talking about success, but good success, this verse tells us that to have good success we must meditate in the word continually and put that word into practice in our lives.

We make decisions every year, to study more diligently and to practice it in our lives, daily and to spend more time in prayer.

Yet if we are not careful, Satan (our enemy) will subtly begin to shed our time, and before we know it, we will find ourselves so busy, we don’t spend the time with the Lord and in His word.

Don’t let Satan rob you of the one thing that will make you a success in life.

We all have a great work to do.

Matthew 9:37-38 says: “The harvest is truely plentous, but the labourers are few, Pray there for the the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.”

Each of us can be a labourer in the Harvest field – what greater success could there be, but to bring others into the Kingdom.

I am encouraging you to make being a witness in your world a number one project.

Your neigbours, Co-workers, family, people you meet, pray for opportunities to share the Love of God with them.

Psalm 37:23 – “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in His way.”

Let the Lord guide your steps, be sensitive to His promptings, many times we miss a good opportunity because we are not sensitive to the voice of God, (which we can hear in our heart and through His word).

God’s word says, “He can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” (Ephesians 3:20) I know this year holds great abundance for you if we will dare to trust God, and believe His word and put that word to practice in our lives,

I know as we allow the Lord to lead and guide us this year (Psalm 23:1) as He brings this word to pass in our life, our prayer for you that the Lord who is your Shephard will lead you into green pastures and beside still waters.

Did you know, it’s your perspective that makes all the difference in life?  How you see things determines your attitude, and our attitude will either lift you or lower you.

When you hear or read of the world’s conditions today do you think about problems or opportunities?

Every situation in life offers us a choice to believe or doubt, to fear or to use faith.  The God kind of faith believes and speaks according to what God has spoken- our time to shine, is Now!

We are resurrection people who keep rising up each day.  Our lives are not manipulated by oil prices or interest rates going up or down.  We have a solid rock foundation of God, it overrides every natural circumstance on the planet.  No matter what is happening around us, we have a liberty to stay positive, believe the best, do something helpful and turn the tide.

‘Greater is He that is in us then he that is in the world’ (I John 4:4)

‘We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us’ (Romans 8:37);

‘We know that God answers our prayers and we can speak to mountains to move’ (Mark 11:22-24).

Why should we be negative when we have such a great God?

Great discoveries are made when people have great problems that must be solved.  Think of Edison and the light bulb, each discovery has come in the midst of huge needs.  Instead of being negative over the darkness, Edison focused on turning on the light.  2009 is our time to shine.

We are people in our church, who believe God is bigger than any problem, we believe there are possibilities and opportunities in the midst of any difficulty.

I encourage you, to believe and speak blessings, prosperity, and increase right in the face of your circumstances whatever they may be.

God’s will for you is to prosper and be in health, ever as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)

Look for opportunities all around you- expect something good to happen in the midst of what others call problems.  Realise that God is unchanging in His ability to provide all that you need.  We are to make a difference in the world.

I pray you will see God’s blessing overflow in all you do.
